Havre Babe Ruth team goes 1-3 at state tourney

The Havre Youth Baseball season is winding down, and it did so for one of Havre’s all-star teams this past weekend.

The Havre Babe Ruth 15U team competed at the Babe Ruth State Tournament this past weekend in Conrad, and the squad went 1-3 and fell short of reaching Sunday’s bracket play.

Havre opened the tourney with a 14-0 loss to Kalispell, with Noah Brown’s triple the only hit for the Havre squad. The team then came back to beat Helena 15-2 on the second day. The Havre offense got five hits and three RBIs from Jacob Irvin while Kaiden Anez pitched six strong innings.

However, the all-star team couldn’t put a winning streak together. On Saturday morning, Havre suffered a tough 11-8 loss to Glendive, then was eliminated Saturday night with a 6-3 loss to Conrad.

The Havre 15U squad is composed of Brendan Garden, Brady Ophus, Kaiden Anez, Austin Delarosa, James Christensen, Jacob Irvin, Tony Antley, Gavin Mosbrucker, Tommy Brown, Noah Brown, Ethan Roberts and Kennedy McKay. The team is coached by Doug Garden and Mark Irvin.

Once again, the Havre Daily News sports staff would like to remind area all-star coaches to send in any results and pictures to George Ferguson at [email protected].
