Obituary - Katie A. Waldner

Katie A. Waldner, 87, of Hilldale Colony, passed away of natural causes on Monday, Aug. 3, 2015, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at noon. on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2015, at Hilldale Colony.

Katie was born on Sept. 2, 1927, in Magrath, Alberta, Canada, to Jacob and Sarah (Entz) Waldner. She was raised in Magrath, and moved to Rockport in 1948. She married Andrew J. Waldner in 1950, and the family relocated to Hilldale in 1963, where they remained until her death. She worked as a kindergarten teacher for 11 years, and as a waitress for the grade school for 15 years.

Katie enjoyed knitting, house chores and spending time with her large, loving family.

She was preceded in death by Andrew Waldner, her beloved husband of 58 years; her granddaughter, Clara J. Waldner; her two brothers, Jacob Katie Waldner and George Rebecca Waldner; her sister, Rachel J. Waldner; and her daughter-in-law Sarah J. Waldner.

She is survived by her five daughters, Katie A Waldner, Sarah (David) Kleinsasser, Lena (Sam) Kleinsasser, all of Hilldale Colony, Becky (Tim) Hofer of Spring Water Colony, and Elsie A. Waldner of Hilldale Colony; her four sons, Andrew (Katie) Waldner of Hilldale Colony, Jacob (Rosa) Waldner and Joe (Ruth) Waldner, all of Hartland Colony, and John (Clara) Waldner of Hilldale Colony; her 33 grandchildren; her 59 great-grandchildren; her sisters Sarah (Joe) Wipf, Susie (Jacob) Hofer, and Mary (John) Kleinsasser; her brothers John (Mary) Waldner, Peter (Katie) Waldner and Joe (Mary) Waldner; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Our deepest gratitude goes out to the Northern Montana Hospital nursing staff and Marilyn with Bear Paw Hospice for their kind, compassionate care of Katie.
