Obituary - Doris L. Mist

Doris L. Mist, 87, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 9, 2015, at Northern Montana Care Center of natural causes.

Cremation has taken place, and memorial services will be held at 1  p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 13, 2015, at St. Mark's Episcopal Church with Pastor Linda Rose officiating.

To carry on Doris' legacy, memorials should be made to St. Mark's Episcopal Church, the Havre Fire Department, the Police Protective Association or to the charity of the donor's choice. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with services and arrangements.

Doris was born in London, England, on March 19, 1928, to Albert and Louise (Stock) Mist. She was raised in London, where she graduated from grammar school, and later attended college in the States for Computer Science.  Doris worked in a munitions factory in London during World War II, and following the War, she moved to America with her best friend Betty (George) Zoren, who had married an American.

Doris lived in several large cities over the next 20 years, finally settling in Havre in the late 1960s. There she worked at Sherwin Williams for 30 years before retiring.  

Doris enjoyed caring for her garden, spending time with Betty and George prior to their deaths in 2003, watching QVC and knitting.

She was a faithful member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church for many years, known for her generous spirit and wonderful sense of humor.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and her best friend, Betty Zoren.

She is survived by her beloved family members Sandra Jones of Laindon, England, Debbie (Brian) Lerner of Medicine Hat, Alberta, Pat (Jim) Tomte of Everett, Washington, Bev Tarakofsky of Bismark, North Dakota, Kevin (Theresa) Zoren of Havre, and numerous grandnieces and grandnephews.
