Hi-Line Football Roundup: Bears, Beeters, Hawks cruise again

It was another exciting weekend of football along the Hi-Line and once again it was a weekend where the heavily favored teams from the area dominated.

The Box Elder Bears, who came into the weekend sporting a 4-0 record, made it 5-0 on Saturday in Box Elder with a 72-25 trouncing of the Big Sandy Pioneers. Shane Ketchum scored four touchdowns in the win for the Bears, two of them coming off of kickoff returns. Bodis Duran also had a big day for Box Elder with three rushing touchdowns.

Brandon The Boy also tossed three touchdowns for Box Elder, with two going to Jerrod Four Colors. Four Colors also intercepted a pass and returned it for a score, giving the Bears three non-offensive touchdowns in the victory.

It was a difficult day all around for the Pioneers, who got touchdowns from Laurence Alderdice, Weston Alderdice, Josh Solf and Jordan Schwarzbach.

Big Sandy (2-3) will be at Valier next Saturday.

At 5-0 in the North Division of Six-Man football, the Bears have essentially clinched a playoff berth thanks wins over North Star, Big Sandy, Geraldine/Highwood and Valier, so they should win any tiebreaking scenario that could potentially unfold. Yet, a win over Heart Butte this Saturday would eliminate even the possibility of a tiebreaker down the road and would guarantee the Bears' their long-awaited berth in the Six-Man playoffs.
