MEDA fall conference to  focus on infrastructure

From Bear Paw Development Corp.

The Montana Economic Developers Association will hold its annual Fall Conference in Billing Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 13 and 14, at the Northern Hotel.

The conference will provide hands-on opportunities for economic developers and their partners to learn about and address important issues facing Montana as they work together to build real solutions to some of those key issues.

Beginning at 2 p.m., on Tuesday, Oct. 13, MEDA will also host Montana's Infrastructure Town Hall Meeting: A Call to Action. The town hall meeting will include a review of Montana's infrastructure needs, a dialogue addressing these needs across multiple sectors, and an opportunity for participants to work together to lay the groundwork for building a sustainable approach to address statewide infrastructure investment.  The town hall meeting will end with a networking reception which begins at 5 p.m.

"Montana's infrastructure is a key building block to the economic growth and vitality of our state," said Paul Tuss, executive director of Havre-based Bear Paw Development Corp. "As economic development professionals from across Montana, we are coming together to emphasize the need to continue to smartly invest in those areas that are essential to make our communities great places to live, work and raise a family."

Tuss said Bear Paw Development will serve as one of the sponsors of MEDA's Fall Conference.

Additional conversations during the conference will focus on recent changes in Montana's key economic development programs, and on discovering methods for marketing economic development organizations and community economic development efforts. The MEDA Conference will provide a great opportunity to network with business leaders and professionals and to hear from several major players in the economic development/business world.
