United soccer teams play at home

The Hi-Line United soccer teams have been playing games for more than a month now, but this past weekend, both the U19 and U15 teams got to play at home for the first time this season.

Both United teams played multiple games Saturday at the Havre High soccer fields, as each team played a match against both Lewistown and Miles City.

The U19 team opened their day by taking on Lewistown in the United's first game of the day and unfortunately, they failed to find the net and were defeated by a score of 6-0. Later in the afternoon, the U19 team took on Miles City. The United still lost, but managed to score two goals in a 7-2 defeat.

In the first half, Miles City managed to build a four-goal advantage and eventually built a 6-0 lead, before Mitchell Woods got the United on the board in the second half. Michelle Rainey also scored late in the match, following a tremendous individual run, trimming the final deficit to five goals.

At the same time the U19 team was playing on one end of the field, the U15 team played on the other end and in the morning, the U15 United managed to notch a 7-3 victory over Lewistown.

Michael Chagnon, Max Olson and Noah Teasley all scored two goals apiece in the win. Sean Borrero added a goal, while Max Olson, Torek Swensen, Slyvia Wilting all had assists. Josiah Triplett also did a solid job in net, surrendering just three goals and finishing the game with three saves.

Following their victory, the U15 United was looking for their second win of the day, in a match against Miles City, but fell just short, losing by the slimmest of margins, 3-2. Max Olson and Borrero both scored a goal in the loss. Triplett also contributed another strong effort, racking up a total of six saves.

The U19 team will be off this weekend, while the U15 team will be in Livingston next Saturday for a pair of conference games.
