Pizza deal will help Blaine Co. fair

People can eat pizza and help out the Blaine County Fair Friday or Thursday, May 26, by going to or ordering food from the Havre Pizza Hut.

Twenty percent of the money the restaurant takes in will be donated to the fair, but people must mention to the server that they want the money directed to the fair,.

The deal is good for take out, eat-in or delivery.

The effort is one of several fund-raisers the fair is having to get money to pay for improvements to the fairgrounds and the fair week activities, said Wendy Warburton, secretary of the Blaine County Fair Board.

She said there are several exciting changes to the fair this year, which will be July 13-17. For instance, the Bear Paw Roundup will be part of the fair this year. It will be Thursday and Friday nights.

She said the carnival rides will be the best in years.

“The carnival is always important to people,” she said.

Dreamland Carnival will be at several fairs in the area, including Hill and Blaine counties, she said.

The Blaine County Showdown Demolition Derby will be Saturday, July 16, and the 4-H Livestock Sale will be 1 p.m. Sunday, July 17.

Festivities will end with the Double D Pig Wrestling Contest at 4 p.m. Sunday.

Warburton said updates on new events will be posted on the fair’s website, http://www.blainecountyfair.net.
