Obituary - Paula Schafer

Paula Schafer, 57, of Great Falls, formerly of Havre, died May 15, 3016, at her home in Great Falls.

She was born March 4, 1959, the daughter of Dick and Virginia Wieweck.

She went to school in Havre and graduated from Havre High School. She graduated from Northern Montana College with a four-year nursing degree. She was a registered nurse.

She was married to Kelly Schafer. They were later divorced.

She worked and owned her own company for 12 years and was well-known for her food and baking. She was a nurse in Lewistown for six years, 1999 to 2005. From 2006 until present, she worked in Great Falls, helping others in any capacity needed. She was a very caring person.

She also helped out at the Center for Mental Health in Great Falls.

She loved to camp, hike, make blankets, paint and hang out with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons, Ryan Schafer and Nathan Schafer; her sister, Chris Backer of Australia; her brother, David Wieweck of Stocket, Montana; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dick Wieweck, and her mother, Virginia Trochie.

A celebration of her life will take place on June 18, 2 p.m., at Pepin Park.
