Borst appointed to athletic training board

Gov. Steve Bullock announced Friday he appointed Nichole Borst of Havre to the state Board of Athletic Trainers.  Borst is the head athletic trainer for Montana State University-Northern. The main qualification for the position is that they person be an athletic trainer, employed with or retired from a postsecondary institution.

Alternative voting office set on Rocky Boy

Under an agreement reached by the Hill County Election Department and the Chippewa Cree Tribe, an Alternative Voting Office will operate on Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation for the 2016 Federal General Election.

Hill County’s alternative voting office opened Oct. 12 and will again be open on Wednesdays, Oct. 26 and Nov. 2. It is on the Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation at Stone Child College in the foyer of the Kenawash Building, 8294 Upper Box Elder Road, Box Elder.

Late registration and absentee voting will be available at the location for all Hill County residents from 9 a.m to 4 p.m.

Middle school choir concert set for Thursday

The Havre Middle School Fall Choir Concert will be presented Thursday beginning at 7 p.m. in the HMS assembly room. 

“Communication Comp-lication” will be the concert theme, including songs about rumors, telephones, slang words and the importance of being a good friend in these times of social-media drama.

Showcased groups performing will include the sixth-grade and seventh- and eighth-grade choirs, featured girls ensembles, along with the select singing group, the Spotlighters.
