Havre High lists Students of the Month

Kristen Belcourt has been nominated and chosen as one of Havre High School's November 2016 Students of the Month.

Kristen is the daughter of George and Kaycee Belcourt and sister of Cole, 16, Mark, 14, and Kobe, 3.

As a senior at Havre High School, Kristen is involved in speech and debate and choir. She works outside of school as a sales associate at Rue 21. She enjoys singing, science, hanging out with her friends and her little brother, Kobe.

Kristen was nominated by Colleen Patera for her involvement and positive influence at school. Kristen is actively engaged in her classes, always pleasant to talk to and has a ready smile on her face, Patera said. She only needs two more credits to graduate and is currently in the process of applying to colleges. Patera said she appreciates Kristen's work ethic and promotes Kristen as a great role model for Havre High School.

After graduation, Kristen plans to become a doctor.

Vander Swensen has been chosen as one of Havre High's November 2016 Student of the Month.

Vander is the son of Lars and Kathleen Swensen.

Vander actively participates with the Science Bowl, Key Club, pep band, cross country, and tennis. Outside of school he is in Boy Scouts and works at Northern Montana Hospital. He also enjoys skiing, mountain biking, music and spending time with his family.

Vander was nominated by Luke Thompson. Thompson said, "Vander is a very intelligent, polite and competitive student," adding that Vander comes into class in a good mood and ready to work with a good attitude. He said Vander's teachers appreciate the hard work Vander puts into his assignments, exams and projects.

Vander's plans include going on a mission for the LDS church after high school. After his mission, Vander plans on going to pre-med school.
