Local students named to Carroll College Dean’s List

Carroll College named the central and north-central Montana area students listed below to its 2016 fall semester Dean’s List. To be included on the Dean’s List, a student must receive a 3.5 grade point average or higher on a 4.0 scale and take at least 12 graded credits in a semester.

Students named to MSU-Northern’s fall semester Dean’s List

The Montana State University-Northern’s Fall semester Dean’s List contains 373 students. To be included in the Dean’s List, students must carry a minimum of 12 credits and earn a grade point average of 3.25 or better. Students that received an incomplete or “F” during this semester are not included on the honor roll listing. The following list of local students is organized alphabetically by hometown. Many students give a Havre address instead of a hometown address and are listed in the Havre listing.

Han earns degree from MSU

BOZEMAN — Megan Han of Inverness was among the 733 Montana State University Bozeman undergraduates who received diplomas during MSU’s 2016 fall commencement ceremony held Dec. 17 in Brick Breeden Fieldhouse.

Han graduated with honors, earning a cumulative grade point average between 3.25 and 3.69.

John Heminway, a Montana-based writer and documentary filmmaker whose work has earned him two Emmys, two Peabody Awards and a duPont-Columbia University journalism award, among other honors, received an honorary doctorate in arts during the ceremony. He also delivered the charge to the graduates.

In addition, MSU President Waded Cruzado presented the President’s Medallion to Dorothy “Dotty” Bracken for her past and continued support of the university and its programs. The Montana State University President’s Medallion is an award given by the president to honor individuals who have made significant contributions to the educational, cultural, economic, scientific and/or social advancement of MSU and/or the region.
