Havre's Filius headed to MCA HOF

Havre High’s Scott Filius has been named to the 2017 Montana Coaches Association Hall of Fame Class.

Filius, who just wrapped up his 22nd season as the Blue Ponies’ wrestling coach, is a 12-time MCA Coach of the Year.

Filius just guided his Blue Ponies to his 12th Class A state championship back in February, which ties him for second-most amongst wrestling coaches in Montana history. Under Filius, Havre has had countless individual state champions, and even more state placers, while the Blue Ponies have also now had a streak of five straight state titles, and earlier in his career, a streak of four in a row.

Filius will be inducted into the MCA Hall of Fame during the 2017 MCA Coaches Clinic Aug. 2-4 in Great Falls.
