Obituary - Joanne R. Pepin

Joanne R. Pepin, 84, passed away due to natural causes Saturday, May 27, 2017, at the Care & Comfort Home.

Cremation has taken place, and the rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 1, 2017, at Holland & Bonine Funeral Chapel. Her funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 2, 2017, at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church with Father Daniel Wathen officiating.

Joanne's family has suggested memorial donations be made to the Care & Comfort Home, St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic School, or to the charity of the donor's choice.

Joanne was born April 8, 1933, in Havre to Dr. Raymond C. and Anna Jo (Mack) Gallus. She was raised in Havre, attending grade school at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic School, and graduating from Havre High School in 1951. Joanne attended Seattle University for two years, and then returned home to her childhood sweetheart Robert Pepin Feb. 14, 1953, in Helena. Joanne was an industrious woman, who worked at the Havre U.S. Air Force base as a civil secretary, provided daycare for several years, and in 1975 went to work for Hi-Line Auto. In 1980, she went to work for Big Bud until her retirement in 1984.

Joanne enjoyed traveling, both inside the U.S., to Glacier, and outside the U..S, to Mexico; camping; bowling - for 50 years - flower gardening; snowmobiling in West Yellowstone; watching her grandchildren as often as she could, and cooking. She was a talented pianist; and a member of St. Jude Thaddeus Church, and in her earlier years, St. Jude Altar Society.

Joanne was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Anna Gallus; her sisters, Arlyce Stansberry and Janet Boisvert; her brother, Raymond E. Gallus; and her parents-in-law, Exzelia and Beradene Pepin.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Bob Pepin of Havre; her daughters, Kate (Bob) Mogstad of Helena, and Kim (Mike) Evans and Kara (Rob) Malone, all of Havre; her sons, Robert J. Pepin of Missoula, Richard A. Pepin (Andy Doerr) of Thornton, Colorado, and Ray Pepin of Ogden, Utah; her 11 grandchildren; her eight great-grandchildren; her sisters, Donna (Bernard) Golie of Havre and Ellie (William) Solem of Chinook; her brothers, John (Anne) Gallus of Butte and Charles Gallus of Havre; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
