Eagles block Pony spikers

The Havre High volleyball team traveled to Lewistown last Friday in search of its first conference win in the final match of the regular season.

However, on the road, against a talented Lewistown team, the odds were stacked against the Blue Ponies. And when all was said and done, the Eagles easily dispatched the Ponies in straight sets by the scores of 25-15, 25-23 and 25-11. The loss dropped the Ponies overall record to 6-11 and their mark in the Central A to 0-6.

Alijah Ross, who reached double figures in kills in the first meeting between Havre and Lewistown this season, did so again Friday, as she finished with a match-high 10 kills to go along with two blocks.

For Havre, Sam Oliver led the way with four kills, nine assists and 10 digs. Camryn Huston also pitched in with a match-high three blocks, while Jessa Chvilicek and Kadyn Acor each added four kills apiece in the loss.

The Ponies will head back to Lewistown this week for the Eastern A Divisional Tournament. The action will get started on Thursday and will feature all 10 teams from the Eastern and Central A conferences.
