More candidates file for office during the week

Joshua J. Kassmier of Fort Benton filed Wednesday with the Montana Secretary of State’s Office to run as a Republican for the House District 27 seat now held by state Rep. Jim O’Hara, R-Fort Benton.

The House district starts on the Canadian border in Liberty and western Hill counties and stretches south through Chouteau County down to the northeastern corner of Cascade County.

O’Hara had not filed to run for re-election to the seat as of print deadline today, but has filed to run in the Republican Primary to unseat Chouteau County Commissioner Robert Pasha in District 3.
