Obituary - Henrietta 'Reca' Blumfield

Henrietta "Reca" Blumfield, 100, a longtime Havre resident, died May 8, 2018.

Henrietta was born Nov. 20, 1917, in Stockett, Montana, to Demetrio and Erminia Albertini. She attended Centerville High School. She moved to Great Falls with her sister Ida and attended business school in Great Falls and Spokane, Washington. She worked for General Mills, and did bookkeeping for various grocery stores in Great Falls, where she met the love of her life, Dave Blumfield. She married Dave in 1944 when he returned from the war. They moved to Havre in 1954. In 1960, they opened Dave's Foods. She retired from Dave's Foods in 1974 to spend time with her five grandchildren. Henrietta spent her summers with her grandchildren, running them to activities and teaching them to garden and cook. In 2009, Henrietta and Dave moved to Billings to be closer to family.

She is survived by sister Virginia Albertini of Great Falls; son David E. (Haidee) Blumfield of Los Angeles; daughter Linda Freitag of Billings; grandchildren, Chad Freitag of Billings, Todd Blumfield of Los Angeles, Amy (Jeff) Berve of Billings, Ryan Freitag of Billings, and Shaun (Erica) Blumfield of Los Angeles; great-grandchildren, Tasia Berve, Kyler Berve, Phillip, Dyllan and Nathan Freitag of Billings, Zoe and Kylee Blumfield of Los Angeles; great-great grandchild, Ember Fox of Billings; niece Janet Blumfield-Wetherly of Congers, New York; stepfamily, the Kuhns in North Carolina; and her adopted family the Klobofskis of Havre.

Cremation has occurred and a private memorial is planned at a later date.
