If the Chester-Joplin-Inverness football team was going to make the playoffs, Choteau was one of the teams it needed to beat.

Unfortunately, in a battle of teams within the Northern C of 8-Man football last Friday night in Chester, Choteau clipped the Hawks 38-28. Choteau started fast, getting a touchdown in the first quarter and three more in the second, building a 26-8 halftime lead. By the end of the third quarter, it was 38-8 in favor of the Bulldogs. CJI rallied with 20 points in the fourth quarter, but it wasn't enough to overcome a 30-point deficit.
