The Havre Art Association is holding its 46th Annual Arth Show and Sale next weekend in the Van Orsdel United Methodist Church, with a special guest artist from Glasgow showing her work and giving talks both days of the show.

Cathryn Reitler of Glasgow will be the featured artist.

Reitler earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of Nevada Las Vegas in 2006 and her Master of Fine Arts from the University of Montana in 2011. Her work has been displayed across the country including in Seattle, Las Vegas and Troy, New York.

Her web site says she works in multiple genres, using her artwork to explore eastern Montana culture. She often paints on nontraditional surfaces, such as painting on fabrics such as curtains, historic documents or on objects she finds.

She has worked on a commission basis but has recently started working full-time producing her art.

Reitler will give a talk from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 3 and 4.

She will be in a space reserved for her and her work," association member Becky Ross said.

Art Association member Barbara Zuck also will be playing the harp at the show.

The show will have a raffle for a piece of artwork and will hold a silent auction.

Ross said anyone can register and enter their work in the show, which is not restricted to Havre Art Association members. The only requirement is that fine artwork is displayed. Prints can be sold but not displayed.

The association is also planning to hold a workshop Monday if at least five people sign up.

The show runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, and from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, at Van Orsdel United Methodist Church at 410 Fifth Ave.
