North Star speakers shine at Conrad

The North Star speech and drama team traveled to Conrad Saturday, Nov. 10, and represented its team well. 

Out of 19 schools, the Knights placed fourth overall in Class C Speech.   

The North Star results are:  In impromptu, Daniel Nerat placed third and Garret Pedersen took fourth. In spontaneous oral interpretation of literature, Aubrey Welch placed second, while Hayden Massar took home the first-place title in humorous oral interpretation of literature.  Another team member, Ashley Otto made a great showing but did not place. 

This week the team will be competing in their own co-hosted meet, The Gobbler, taking place in Chester with he Chester-Joplin-Inverness Hawks. People can come and support their team with rounds at 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m., noon and finals at 2 p.m.
