Triangle members gather for 65th annual meeting

Triangle Telephone Cooperative Association Inc., doing business as Triangle Communications, held its 65th Annual Meeting of Members Saturday, Oct. 13. Voting members plus numerous guests totaled close to 300 in attendance at the meeting held in the Student Union Building on the campus of Montana State University-Northern in Havre. 

Attending members voted to approve the proposed By-Law changes. A complete listing of these changes appeared in the meeting notice mailed to all members before the meeting.

  Prize drawings for members and non-members were held including two Grand Prize drawings. One member won a Red Ants Pants getaway complete with tickets and a camping pass and another won a 55" Samsung Smart TV. The member attendance gifts and table centerpieces were all Made in Montana products. 

Trustees from two districts were re-elected by members attending the meeting. Richard Pokorny was re-elected to represent District 4, which covers Hingham, Gildford, Kremlin, Big Sandy, Loma, Hopp-Iliad, Winifred, Denton, Stanford, Hobson and Moore. Rich Stuker was re-elected to represent District 5, which covers Chinook, Turner, Whitewater, South Malta and Malta. The officer reorganization meeting held immediately after the annual meeting resulted in Richard Stuker, board president; Tom Bangs, board vice president; and Rick Pokorny, board secretary/treasurer.

Members at the meeting voted for the winners of Triangle's Annual Photo Contest.

Whitney Bare of Reed Point won the grand prize of $200 with her photo "Sunset behind Windmill" taken north of Reed Point. The winning photos can be viewed on Triangle's Facebook page, www.Facebook.com/TriangleCommunications and will be featured on the covers of the 2019 Keeping You Connected magazines. Other winners included:

• Second place - Bobbi Carriker of Big Timber

• Third place - Carmen Salveson of Malta. 

• Fourth place - Lom Nemec of Coffee Creek

• Fifth place - Laci Keller Christenson of Big Sandy 

• Sixth place - Abby Schladweiler of Rapelje.
