Hi-Line Athletes of the Week

Gilbert Snow, Hays-Lodge Pole Boys Basketball

Gilbert Snow and the Hays-Lodge Pole Thunderbirds took a tough route to the Class C state tournament. They finished third at the 9C and then had to play Winnett-Grass Range on a Sunday challenge game just to get to state. But with the first HLP berth to state since 2016 on the line, Snow delivered. Against the Rams, the senior scored 22 points and dished out four assists as HLP won 65-56. Snow averaged 14 points in three games at Northern C, after averaging 13 ppg at the District 9C tourney in Havre.

L'Tia Lawrence, Harlem Girls Basketball

Harlem junior L'Tia Lawrence has been good all season. Actually, she's been good ever since she got to the Wildcat basketball program. But she certainly saved one of her best games for the best time. In Saturday night's Northern B title game in Malta, Lawrence scored 28 points, helping lift the Wildcats to their first-ever Northern B championship. Lawrence also scored 20 points in a semifinal win Friday, which vaulted the Wildcats to their first-ever Class B state tournament, and over three games, she averaged 21 points per night.
