Former Pony Jolene Fuzesy headed to Carroll HOF

A former Havre Blue Pony star basketball player has now achieved the highest honor at Carroll College.

Former Blue Pony great girls basketball player Jolene Fuzesy was recently named to the Carroll College Athleteics Hall of Fame Class of 2019. Fuzesy’s induction will be a part of a huge night for Carroll as legendary head coach Mike Van Diest and former Carroll Athletic Director Bruce Parker are also among the inductees.

Fuzesy played for the Blue Ponies in her senior season of 2003-2004, leading them, and Class A in scoring for head coach Dennis Murphy. Fuzesy played her first three seasons of high school in Malta.

She played for Carroll from 2004 to 2008. Considered the greatest shooter in Carroll women’s hoops history, Fuzesy holds Carroll College records for most career points (2,067), most field goals made (672), most field goals attempted (1,394), most three-pointers made (464), most three-pointers attempted (903) and most games played (139). She was a two-time All-American and all-conference three times. Teams she played on averaged 28 wins per season and advanced to the national tournament each season, reaching the Second Round twice.

Fuzesy and the rest of the 2019 Carroll Hall of Fame Class will be inducted Sept. 21 in Helena.
