Pastor's Corner: Changing your destiny God's way

2 Corinthians 5:17-18 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation.

Titus 3:5-6 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior.

We are new through what God has done through Christ! Spirit, Soul, Body, Destiny!

1 Chronicles 4:9-10 Now Jabez was more honorable than his brothers, and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, “Because I bore him in pain.” In Hebrew the meaning of Jabez is pain or one who will cause pain, it would seem that Jabez’s mother had spoken and declared the destiny of her son! one who will cause pain, or who will live in a life of pain.

Your parents, family, a teacher, friend may have spoken something into your life that is not a blessing!

Don’t agree with or accept what they say! Agree with God’s word!

But the Bible says: And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying,

“Oh, that You would bless me indeed,”

Psalms 3:8 Salvation belongs to the Lord. Your blessing is upon Your people.

Proverbs 10:22 The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, And He adds no sorrow with it.

Luke 12:32 “Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

Jeremiah 29:11 I know the plans I have in mind for you, declares the Lord; they are plans for peace, not disaster, to give you a future filled with hope.

Psalm 34:8 Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!

and enlarge my territory, broaden the sphere of my influence. I was born for more than this! O God, please expand my opportunities and my impact in such a way that I may touch more lives for Your glory. Let me do more for You!

Psalm 2:8 Ask of Me, and I will give You The nations for Your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for Your possession.

Children of Israel – take the land I have chosen for you!

that Your hand would be with me,

Psalm 18:35 You have also given me the shield of Your salvation; Your right hand has held me up, your gentleness has made me great.

Psalm 16:11 You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Deuteronomy 4:31 (for the Lord your God is a merciful God), He will not forsake you nor destroy you, nor forget the covenant of your fathers which He swore to them.

Hebrews 13:5 Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

and that You would keep me from evil,

Psalm 41:2 The Lord will preserve him and keep him alive, and he will be blessed on the earth; You will not deliver him to the will of his enemies.

Psalm 34:7 The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, and delivers them.

that I may not cause pain!”

I renounce and reject the ill will spoken over me and I stand on the word of God!

Psalm 119:31 I cling to Your testimonies; O Lord, do not put me to shame!

Psalm 18:35 You have also given me the shield of Your salvation; Your right hand has held me up, Your gentleness has made me great.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

So God granted him what he requested.

The curse spoken by his mother was broken and the blessing of God became the new destiny for his life!

Saul of Tarsus to Paul

Genesis 35:16-18 Then they journeyed from Bethel. And when there was but a little distance to go to Ephrath, Rachel labored in childbirth, and she had hard labor. Now it came to pass, when she was in hard labor, that the midwife said to her, “Do not fear; you will have this son also.” And so it was, as her soul was departing (for she died), that she called his name Ben-Oni ( the son of my sorrow); but his father called him Benjamin (the son of my right hand.)

Are you still in agreement with something contrary to the word of God?
