Northern Alumni Foundation holding Care-A-Thon

By Havre Daily News staff

The Montana State University-Northern Alumni Foundation is inviting people to “Let your little (Northern) light shine!”

The Foundation is looking for volunteers throughout the month of April for its Care-A-Thon, an outreach program where volunteers will call Northern alumni who may feel particularly isolated right now.

“We are looking for volunteers to share their kindness for our Care-A-Thon with the intent to engage MSU-N alumni who may feel particularly isolated during this time,” a release from the Foundation said. “Anyone can volunteer, and you choose how many calls you want to make.

“The Care-A-Thon is something you can do from home, you just need a phone, a computer and willingness to chat,” the release added. “This is not a fundraiser, instead it is about making personal connections with our MSU-Northern alumni and friends.

The Care-A-Thon will go on throughout April, and people can volunteer as much or as little as they want and set their own pace. People can contact Outreach Coordinator Lee Lounder at the Foundation via email at [email protected], or visit the Northern Alumni Foundation Facebook page for more information.

“Everyone is welcome,” the release said. “You do not have to be an alumnus to volunteer and you don’t even need to live in Havre. You can do this from anywhere. Help us share the (Northern) light and make a difference!”
