Havre High names students of the month

Havre High School has listed the students selected as students of the month for February and March.

Addison Golie is one of Havre High's February 2021 students of the month.

The daughter of Trina, mom, and Ken Hanson, step-dad, and Brendon Golie, dad, Addison, a sophomore, has one older sibling, Jenna, 17.

Addison is a member of the Havre High cheer team and the pep club, while outside of school she works at the Boys & Girls Club. Her hobbies and interests include art, hanging out with friends and family, paddle boarding, hiking and skiing.

Addison was nominated by Rebecca Reno because she "embodies the qualities of a successful student." Reno added, "Addison's attitude toward education has been one to be admired." Even though the hybrid model was initially overwhelming, "she continued to put hard work and effort into her studies and her willingness to overcome the challenges has shown that she takes her education seriously."

After graduating, she plans on traveling and going to college.

The other HHS student of the month for February is Tracy Gorecki, daughter of Richard and Tracy. A sophomore, Tracy has two siblings, Tyler, 21, and Tana, 19.

Tracy plays both volleyball and basketball for Havre High, as well as being a member of the HHS band, while outside of school she is a ranch hand and hunter, and her hobbies and interests include baking, reading and various outdoor activities.

She was nominated by David Coy, who said, "Tracy is a model student. She is always attentive in class, providing input and asking questions when required. ... She holds herself to a high academic standard and it shows in her classwork."

After graduating, Tracy plans to go to college at Montana State University-Northern and play volleyball.

One of the March students of the month at Havre High is sophomore Stephen Preputin.

The son of Shawn and Dominique, Stephen has one sibling, Koby, 14.

Stephen is a member of the Havre High football team and, while outside of school, plays hockey and is involved in 4-H and farming.

His hobbies and interests include shooting sports, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and water sports.

He was nominated by Cory Gunderson.

"He is always prepared for class, he participates in class discussions, and his work is always turned in on time," Gunderson said, adding that Stephen "asks good questions, tells great stories, and he can be pretty funny too."

Although Stephen is currently unsure about his plans for the future, he wants to either play hockey, go to college to be a mechanical engineer or join the military.

Havre High's other March student of the month is Kaitlyn Morehouse.

A senior, Kaitlin is the daughter of Darlene and Jason Morehouse and has two siblings, Kory, 17, and Kyle, 16.

Kaitlin is a member of the Havre High Key Club and works as a CNA when outside of school. Her hobbies and interests include painting, drawing, and reading.

She was nominated by Jill Cammon, who said "she is always prepared, asks relevant questions, and stays on task. Cammon said Kaitlin appreciates that Kaitlin "shows up on Zoom when she can't come to class, and she is just as prepared as she would be if she was in person. She just keeps going without skipping a beat."

After graduation, Katlin plans on attending Montana State University in Bozeman and majoring in pre-medicine.
