Chamber reminds of road closures for marathon

Runners reminded to pick up packets by Friday at 9 p.m.

The Havre Chamber of Commerce is reminding people of road closures Saturday during the inaugural Bear Paw Marathon.

The Chamber is advising anyone who uses Montana Secondary Highway 234 - Beaver Creek Highway - that the southbound lane will be shut down from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. from Butte Road to Sucker Creek Road. A pilot car will lead traffic on the north bound lane. People should expect delays.

This may affect commute times and The Chamber asks that everyone plan accordingly. Road closures are to ensure the safety of the runners.

Sucker Creek Road will be closed from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m.

The road at Beaver Creek Reservoir - First Lake - will be closed from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.

The finish line will be at Tilleman Field, the Montana State University-Northern football field, with an after-race party from 10 a.m.to 4 p.m. including live music, food trucks, coffee cart, drinks, bBouncy houses, mini-golf, and cornhole games.

Public is welcome! Come cheer on the runners at the Finish Line.

To see the full map of the race route please go to bearpawmarathon.com. If you have any questions or concerns, please call the Chamber at 265-4383.

The Chamber also is reminding all runners that they must pick up their packets Friday between noon and 9 p.m. at the Holiday Village Mall in the former Famous Footwear location.
