Havre cross country runs at Mountain West Classic

After a solid showing at the Havre Invite, the Havre High cross country teams were looking to carry that over to the Mountain West Classic in Missoula this past Saturday. However, they competed against over 80 teams at the meet and over 300 runners in each meet. With that many competitors, Havre finished in the middle of the pack as the boys team finished 39th and the girls team finished 37th.

The boys team took 39th with 1,136 points. Idaho Falls won the meet with 100 points. Sentinel took second and Thunder Ridge took third. Out of over 400 runners, Caleb Tomac was the Blue Ponies' best runner this past weekend as he finished in 45th place with his personal-best time of 17:10.6.

The HHS girls team finished in 37th place with a score of 979 points. Bozeman won the meet with 106 points while Helena came in second and Lewis and Clark took third. Hailey Gingery had the best performance for Havre as she took 121st place with a time of 22:26.7.

After competing in a meet with over 80 teams and hundreds of runners, the HHS cross country teams will compete in a much smaller meet when they run in the Lockwood 7 on 7 this Saturday.
