Andrew Rolin announces he's resigning as Lights' head coach

On Monday evening, Montana State University-Northern head football coach Andrew Rolin announced his resignation via his personal Twitter account. Northern AD Christian Oberquell confirmed the news and said a search committee would be formed to find the Lights' next head coach.

"This is not easy for me, but I am resigning as the head football Coach at Montana State University-Northern to pursue other opportunities," Rolin said via Twitter.

Rolin reportedly spoke to the current Lights' team earlier in the day.

Rolin came to Northern after spending a fall coaching at Libby High School. Andrew Rolin was introduced on December 21st, 2017 as Head Football Coach at Montana State University-Northern after spending nearly the past decade coaching at both the FBS and FCS levels. He has served as an assistant at San Jose State University, the University of Washington, and the University of San Diego.

The Lights won just one game this past season, going 1-10 overall, but they did break a five-year conference losing streak with a win over Eastern Oregon.
