The Havre High girls basketball team defeated Billings Central, 37-30, to win the Class A State Tournament on Saturday night at the Dahlberg Arena in Missoula. With the win, the Ponies clinch their second straight state title and their fifth since 2014.
The third time was the charm for the Havre High girls basketball as they finally defeated Billings Central this season. And the win came when it mattered most in the Class A State title game on Saturday night at Dahlberg Arena in Missoula. As usual, the Rams made the Blue Ponies work for it, but the Ponies pulled out the 37-30 victory for the state title.
"You can't beat a good team three times and I think it was our time to beat them," Havre's Jade Wendland said. "We were all in that mindset that we got this and it's our time to go."
