Doug was born November 17, 1956, in Havre to Arthur and Marie (Daulton) Beilke. He was raised in Havre, graduating from Havre High School in 1975. Immediately following graduation, he entered the US Marine Corps, serving until 1978, when he received his honorable discharge and returned home to serve in the Marine Corps Reserves until 1981.

While serving in the Reserves, Doug worked for Big Bud and Elenburg Exploration. He also attended Northern Montana College during this time.

In 1981, Doug married Paula Worstell and the couple had two sons. They later divorced but remained friends. After his discharge from the Reserves, he worked for the US Postal Service and then Walmart and PJs.

Doug was a reserved man until you got to know him. He enjoyed barbecuing with friends, watching military shows and westerns, reading military-related books, listening to music, and golfing. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears and LA Angels.

Doug's sons and grandkids were a great source of pride and joy to him. He coached his son's baseball teams, and when not coaching, could always be heard cheering them on from the stands. His love for music was also passed on and he would never hesitate to play some classic rock and blues on his stereo or record player. He was adept at playing guitar as well.

Doug took great pride in his military service. He was never short on stories of adventures he went while enlisted in the Marines and had quite the collection of Marine Corps memorabilia. For many years, Doug was a regular at the city pool league, something he thoroughly enjoyed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Marie Beilke.

Doug is survived by his sons, Logan (Jessalee) Beilke of Omaha, NE, and Derek Beilke of Bismarck, ND; two grandchildren, William and Madelyn Beilke; sister, Donna (Jim) Crawford of Las Lunas, NM; cousin, Carol (Todd) Brown of Navajo Dam, NM; former wife, Paula (Tom) Brady of Havre, and numerous friends.
