The Pro is now Dyllan's Pizza

The Pro is now Dyllan's Pizza and is under new ownership with husband and wife team David and Shana Murray at the helm of the pizza restaurant.

David Murray, formerly a school administrator in Harlem, said he became frustrated with his job there and resigned, and his wife heard that the previous owners of The Pro were retiring and they took the opportunity to make a change.

"She happened to be eating in here one night, found out they were retiring and asked them what they planned on doing with the place," he said.

Shana Murray said one of the previous owners, Bruce Flathers, who ran the place with his wife Marlys, was injured in an car-pedestrian crash, and it caused him to reconsider what he wanted to do, so the family decided to sell.

David Murray said they closed on the deal at the end of June and reopened July 12 but today held a grand reopening with the Havre Area Chamber of Commerce under a new name.

The Murrays said they named the place in honor of their son Dyllan Murray, who died in October of last year.

They said it's been a busy opening month for them with a lot of customers coming in after a time away while the business was closed, and while neither have owned a restaurant before, they both have experience in fast food.

"It's like riding a bike, you never really forget," David Murray said.

Shana Murray said she's worked in food as well but it has definitely been a new experience.

"It is a little tougher on the feet than people expect it to be," she said.

Outside of the name, they said, they don't really have any radical changes in mind, though they may add their own specialty pizzas to the menu at some point.

Shana said they also want to hire some more employees so they can be open for seven days a week.

Currently Dyllan's Pizza is open Tuesdays to Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
