After a successful road trip this past weekend, the Havre Northstars were looking to keep it up in a doubleheader against the Tri County Cardinals in Conrad Tuesday night. Well, the Northstars did not miss a step as they won 15-3 and 11-0 for the sweep.

The Northstars started the night with their 15-3 win over the Cardinals. In the top of the first inning, the Northstars loaded the bases to put themselves in position to score. Terek Shipp capitalized on the opportunity with a double to center field to drive in a pair of runs for a 2-0 lead.

The Cardinals responded with a couple runs in the bottom of the first to tie the game. But the Northstars retook the lead in the top of the second when Chason Mader scored on a sacrifice fly from Drake Berreth. The Cardinals responded in the bottom of the third to tie the game 3-3.

The Northstars got on a roll in the top of the fifth to take control. After getting on base with a single, Kale Reno scored on an error to give Havre the lead. Later in the inning, Brody Nanini and Conner McKay scored on a pair of passed balls to add onto the lead.

After loading the bases, a walk drove in Shipp for another run. Ezra Pyle kept it rolling when he scored on a passed ball. Tyson Brandon then scored another run to give Havre a 10-3 lead to end the inning.

The Northstars carried their momentum into the top of the sixth. After loading the bases, Pyle drove in a pair of runs with a single to center. After a walk to get another runner on, Brandon hit a single to center to drive in another run.

Later in the inning, Reno drove in another run with a single to left. A walk with the bases loaded then drove in Colter Solomon for a run to push Havre's lead to 15-3. The Northstars then recorded three quick outs in the bottom of the sixth to win the game by run rule.

Nanini had a strong game on the mound as he allowed four hits, one earned run and he recorded seven strikeouts as he pitched all six innings.

The Northstars kept it rolling with an 11-0 win over the Cardinals to end the night. Just like in the first game, the Northstars took control in the top of the first. In the top of the third, Shipp extended the lead with an RBI single to left. Later in the inning, McKay scored on a sacrifice fly from Mader to push the lead to 4-0. Then in the top of the fifth, Mader drove in a run with a single to left to make it a 5-0 lead for the Northstars.

Havre continued to score in the top of the sixth when Shipp hit an RBI single to right. Then in the top of the seventh, the Northstars got rolling to put the game out of reach. Solomon first scored on an error and then Berreth hit an RBI single to right to push the lead to 8-0.

With the bases loaded, Nanini hit a single to left to drive in another run. Shipp was then hit by a pitch to drive in Berreth for a run. Pyle capped off the inning with an RBI single to center to push the lead to 11-0. The Northstars recorded three outs in the bottom of the seventh to close it out and complete the sweep.

Many Northstars had great games at the plate to end the night. Berreth went 4-5 with an RBI while Shipp went 3-4 with three RBIs in the contest. On the mound, Tanner Delarosa pitched the entire way allowing four hits and no runs, and recording six strikeouts.
