Obituary -  Charleese Faye Burkybile

Our prettiest, Charleese Faye Burkybile, 19, passed away Monday, August 7, 2023, at her home in Rocky Boy, Montana.

Her wake service began Tuesday night, and funeral services were today, Aug. 16, 2023, at 10 a.m., all at Bob Murie Residence on Parker School Road in Rocky Boy.

Charleese was born August 31, 2004, in Yakima, Washington, to Charles Burkybile and Jennifer Tendoy. She was raised in both Rocky Boy and Toppenish, Washington. While in Rocky Boy, she attended elementary school and some high school.

She moved back to Rocky Boy in 2018 and worked at the Chippewa Cree Tribal Daycare.

Charleese had a compassionate nature and loved people and caring for the babies at her work and all people in general.

She was a very creative and talented person. She would sew beautiful skirts, she did bead work, crocheting, knitting and shared her personally made gifts with her family and friends. She was a talented artist and was also a gourmet chef and baker.

Charleese was a member of the Native American Church, Grass Dance Society, Longhouse, and the Shaker Church. She believed and respected all her faiths. She gathered and made traditional medicines with love.

She was a true angel on earth. She loved all God’s creatures.

She was preceded in death by her father Charles Burkybile; great-grandmothers Vera Mesplie-Condon, Doris Burkybile and Theresa Tendoy; grandfather Merle Tendoy Sr .; great-grandfathers Jim Burkybile and Raymond Azure Sr., and uncles Merle Tendoy and two unborn siblings.

Charleese is survived by her mother, Jennifer Tendoy; sisters Kekoa, Jayden, Kaylee, Vera, Cianna, Jaylarie, and Jatayea; brothers Skyler, Jthia, Zachary, Ashton, Tyler, Coby, Leon, JoJo and Walt.
