Grief Poem - 'Twas Hard to Part

The sun does rise, then later, sets, we watch the Seasons change.

We're born to die - but some folks think, that THAT is all so strange.

'They've' only gone ahead of us - they've NOT left us behind.

Although we can't be with them now, they're in our hearts and mind.

The day will come, we'll meet again on Heaven's distant shore.

We'll walk again, hand holding hand, jointly - forever more.

If memories bring us closer, dear, we're never far apart.

For you are always in our thoughts - forever in our hearts.

A little tot did not wake up, her smile gave them some peace.

Her family knew they'd meet again, their love would never cease.

Do take them in Your arms, dear Lord, and guide them through life's storm.

Sit with our dear ones in the sun and let the wind be warm.

While we 'wither' this Autumn Day, 'drop' like an Autumn leaf;

Sorrow so deep, we miss loved ones, we have such painful grief.

Lord, we need Your help to 'travel on', find a way to be strong;

Yet in this life, we'd love to sing, remember life's sweet song.

Memory is such a loving thing - it lasts the longest day.

It can't be spent or even lent nor ever taken away.

Our dear one's safe with You, dear Lord, and free from any pain.

Do rest in peace, our special dear, until we meet again.

There's always another tomorrow, however hard the day.

There's always an end to sorrow, time wipes our tears away.

There's always a reason for living, though sad our hearts may be.

There's always another horizon beyond the one we see.
