In the early 1980s a song was released called "People Need the Lord." It was written and composed by Greg Nelson and Phil McHugh, and made popular by the singer Steve Green. The words of the chorus are as follows:
"People need the Lord. People need the Lord.
"At the end of broken dreams He's the open door.
"People need the Lord. People need the Lord.
"When will we realize, people need the Lord?"
