Letter to the Editor - Santa, you might want to try an EV in the warming world

Dear Santa,

I hope this letter finds you well, albeit busy as heck, I’m sure! It’s that time of year!

I wanted to let you know that I’ve been good.

Regarding lumps of coal and such. I would love something more environmentally friendly. Could you please give me a solar panel?

You can just leave it on the roof!

How is the North Pole? I’ve been worried about you. Do you have “winter?” I know our glaciers are melting faster than scientists thought. Here in Montana, they are really shrinking.

One of our Congressmen said that he can eat his sandwich watching them melt!

Have you thought of moving?

The best present for all of us would be for Congress to help work together to get bipartisan climate solutions enacted. Here’s one: the Energy Innovation Act! Canada has this type of carbon pricing and they like it! More money in their pockets for Christmas shopping!

Could you please tell everyone about it on your trip this year?

I think it’s great that the House has a bipartisan Climate Solutions Caucus! And there is a Conservative Climate Caucus! I hope that Congressmen Zinke and Rosendale join it and work on climate legislation in 2024.

We had to cancel the Nordic Festival in West Yellowstone again because there is no snow.

Major bummer!

Please pat Rudolf for me. I hope you don’t have any trouble landing your sleigh in Montana this year since there is no snow (another byproduct of our warming world).

Perhaps you’ll want to get an EV?

Thank you, Santa!
