Havre basketball to host Malta

After a busy weekend, the Havre High boys and girls basketball teams are right back to work. Tonight, the Blue Ponies will host Malta in a doubleheader at Havre High Gymnasium.

The HHS girls basketball team will get the night started with its game against Malta. The M-Ettes enter this contest with a 9-6 record this season. They will also be looking to avenge a 60-34 loss to Havre earlier this season.

The Ponies enter the game with a 10-3 record this winter. As they look to complete the sweep of Malta this season, they will need top players such as Amaya Jarvis and Ariana Gary to play well.

The night will finish with the HHS boys basketball team playing against Malta. The Mustangs come to Havre with a 13-2 record, but will be looking to avoid a season sweep after losing to Havre, 77-68, earlier in the year.

The Ponies will be looking to improve on their 10-3 record this winter. If they are going to do that, their best players will have to show out. Tre Gary leads Havre with 17.1 points a game on 50.7 percent shooting from the field.

The HHS girls basketball team will play Malta at HHS Gymnasium tonight at 6 p.m. The HHS boys basketball team will then face Malta right after at 7:30 p.m.
