Grief Poem - They've Gone Ahead

We're born to die, the "Good Book" says, those left behind are sad.

A new-born girl, just 2 days old, left weeping Mom and Dad.

Away down South, 'Jil' dined with Mom, then hurried back to work.

She shared NO troubles with her Mom, she worked as a Sales Clerk.

Some time had passed, - 'Jill' wasn't found 'till Boss found her plumb dead!

They saw that she had overdosed, dropped down and cracked her head.

Across the state a grandpa lived, he was there all alone.

He'd just turned 99 last week; no answers to his phone.

His grandson called neighbors next door, they found him dead in bed!

That was a shock – family surprised; the funeral news soon spread.

Death happens every single day, be young or very old.

It breaks the hearts of those left here – who's LEFT to hug or hold?

God made each one of us, we're HIS! He knows just where we'll roam.

We have a job down here to do – when done – He'll call us home.

God knows hearts break when someone dies, we'll be rejoined 'in time'!

They're gone ahead, they're HOME with HIM, the key? Romans 10:9[1]!

Let's not miss out to see loved ones, be gone a week or year.

When we 'use' key to heaven's gate, I'll bet we'll hear them cheer.

We can rejoice, they've gone back HOME, to BE with family THERE!

And when its time for us to GO, we'll fly THERE in the AIR!
