Sierra Kannberg, RN, receives Max E. Kuhr Memorial Award

Press release

As part of the 2024 National Skilled Nursing Care Week, the Administration at the Northern Montana Care Center presented Sierra Kannberg, RN, with the Max E. Kuhr Memorial Award for Outstanding Caregiver.

National Skilled Nursing Care Week, formerly known as National Nursing Home Week, is one of the most important events of the year for nursing homes. Held annually since 1967 and always beginning on Mother's Day, National Skilled Nursing Care Center Week (NSNCW) is May 12-18, 2024. The observance is sponsored by the American Health Care Association and recognizes the role of skilled nursing care centers in caring for America's seniors and individuals with disabilities.

Kannberg has worked for Northern Montana Care Center as an RN since May of 2023.

Kannberg is a real leader, communicating to staff what she expects, as well as letting them know how much she appreciates what they are doing. She is positive at all times. The administration at NMCC is grateful for the expertise she brings to her tasks.

The Max E. Kuhr Memorial Award for the Outstanding Caregiver at Northern Montana Care Center was established in 2005 by Ann D. Kuhr as a way of recognizing the outstanding care her husband, Max, received while a resident at the Care Center. Eligible candidates must have demonstrated an outstanding attitude of caring and compassion toward residents of Northern Montana Care Center. The recipient is selected by a committee appointed by the Administrator of the Care Center. The yearly award is presented in May during National Nursing Home Week.
