    Tori Thomas|Updated Oct 21, 2014

Montana Gov. Steve Bullock has proposed a $37 million early childhood education program that would make half-day pre-kindergarten programs available to 4-year-olds. • From the Fringe: A jam-packed what we saw, what we'll see

    George Ferguson, Sports Editor|Updated Oct 21, 2014

What we saw? This past weekend in Havre, we saw almost too much to wrap our heads around. But, on one of those ultra-special weekends in our area, we sure tried to take it all in. I would be remised to not start out by mentioning how great the football was all week long on the Hi-Line. It started with Chinook storming back to beat Power-Dutton-Brady late Wednesday night at Hoon Field. And that's after the game was postponed for nearly an hour because of a vicious thunderstorm,...

But, after this past week’s games, there is just one week left in the regular season, and knowing that the schedule is winding down, teams from across the Hi-Line were in search of victories to aid their final push for the playoffs. One such playoff contender is the Chinook Sugarbeeters, who played host to Power-Dutton-Brady Wednesday in an important matchup in the Northern C D...

However, the Raiders first loss of the season caused them to drop four spots to No. 7. SOU and Carroll are now tied atop the Frontier standings. Rocky Mountain College is on the rise again. Rainey Stoner, Havre X-Country Havre High junior Rainey Stoner has only ran cross country for a couple of months. But she sure is making strides. Stoner, who ran a personal best time at the Havre Invitational two weeks ago, eclipsed that mark Saturday when she placed 16th at the Central A Divisional meet in Lewistown on Saturday. Stoner finished fourth for Havre High with a time of 24:27, but her finish helped HHS’s pack time and helped push the Ponies to a solid t...

  • Pony Extra: HHS offense proved plenty

    George Ferguson|Updated Oct 21, 2014

The Havre Blue Ponies, with two-time Class A All-State quarterback Dane Warp at the controls, are a big-play, quick-strike offense. There’s no arguing that. Warp is a classic gunslinger type QB, in the mold of a Peyton Manning or Brett Favre, and Havre takes advantage of his premier skill set any chance it gets. The Ponies also have a slew of talented and speedy wide-outs at Warp’s disposal, including five in its sensational sophomore class, in Parker Filius, Isaac Warp, Jacob...

For those affected by mental illness, the options become even more limited. With mental health needs on the rise and increased physical disorders, more and more adults are requiring residential care f...
