HARLEM Lester G. Surrounded, 77, a full-blood Sioux, died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2002, at a Havre care center of cancer.

A graveside service with burial was held Sept. 19 at Harlem Cemetery.

Lester was born on Sept. 14, 1925, in Pierre, S.D.

He was a farm-and-ranch worker and worked for many families in the Harlem valley and the Big Flat. For the last 25 years, he worked for the Love family of Harlem.

Lester was a humble, kind and spiritual man who had a wonderful memory of years past and to the day he died. He kept a daily journal.

He will be remembered by all who knew him, especially Rosemary Love of Harlem, Linda Hofer and family of Harlem, Clint Love and family of California, Cody Love and family of Billings, and those who cared for him at the Northern Montana Care Center.

Memorials are suggested to the Gift of Life in Great Falls and can be sent to Bank of Harlem, Box 129 Harlem, MT 59526.
