ROSE EAGLEMAN obituary

ROCKY BOY - Rose Eagleman, Si-piw Is-kwew (River Woman), known as a child as Kwe-Kahn, 85, died of cancer Saturday, July 19, 2003, at a Havre hospital.

A wake service began Sunday afternoon at the Rocky Boy Lutheran Church. The funeral service was scheduled for 10 a.m.

today at the Rocky Boy Lutheran Church with Pastor Ruth Votaw officiating. Burial was to follow at the Eagleman Cemetery.

Rosie was born Nov. 11, 1917, to Walking Child and Day Sitting in Bassano, Alberta. The family moved to Great Falls when Rose was a young child.

She met Edward Eagleman and the two were married at the Rocky Boy Lutheran Church in 1941.

She enjoyed quilting, making moccasins, bead work, tanning hides, playing bingo, attending the sweat lodge and Native American Church services.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward in 1993; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Rosie is survived by her sons, Francis, Galen, Gerald, Allen, Harlan "Jeff" and Tex Eagleman; daughters, Gilda Stanley, and Celina Eagleman; 25 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services and arrangements are under the direction of Holland and Bonine Funeral Home.
