MARGARET SPRAGUE obituary

GILDFORD - Margaret Ann Sprague, 87, died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2003, at an Idaho nursing home.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, at the Gildford Community Church. Burial of ashes will follow at the Gildford Cemetery.

Margaret was born at her family's Gildford home to Henry and Mary (Gray) Schwartz. She received her early schooling in Bozeman, then finished her education at Gildford. She graduated from Gildford High School in 1934.

She married Gildford-area farmer Ben A. Sprague on Oct. 28, 1934, at Gildford. They spent their entire married life in the Gildford community, where Margaret worked as a farm wife, homemaker and mother of six. They retired from farming in 1987 and continued to live in Gildford. Ben died on July 21, 1998.

Margaret was a resident of Northern Montana Care Center for a short time before moving to the Life Care Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho, about four years ago.

Margaret's hobbies included quilting, sewing, cooking, reading, singing, music and traveling. She enjoyed spending time with her family and visiting with friends over a cup of coffee. She had a wonderful sense of humor.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; husband; children, Gwendolyn in 1938, Jeff in 1973 and Gail in 1981; and brothers, Henry, Kenneth, Allan and Robert Schwartz.

Survivors include her daughters, Judy (Jerry) Meagher of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Lana Connolly of Fayetteville, Ga., and Nancy (Gary) Taylor of Naples, Fla.; seven grandsons; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements and cremation are by Rockman Funeral Chapel, Chester.
