TYLER BROCKIE obituary

HAYS - Tyler Jo Brockie, 21, died Friday, Oct. 17, 2003, south of Hays on Montana Highway 66 due to a single vehicle rollover.

A funeral Mass was scheduled for 11 a.m. today in Saint Paul's Mission gymnasium with burial following in the Jones Family Cemetery near old Hays. A wake and

rosary were held Sunday evening in Saint Paul's Mission gymnasium.

Tyler was born on Dec. 26, 1981, in Billings to Robert (Bobby) and Daryl (Anita Jones) Brockie. Tyler attended Ponderosa and Central Heights Elementary schools in Billings, Riverside Middle School in Billings and graduated from Harlem High School in 2000. While attending high school, Tyler met his sweetheart, Amanda Costello.

Tyler was easy going and always had a smile for his family and friends. He loved his many relatives. Besides spending time with family and Amanda, he enjoyed playing video games, watching wrestling, and going for hamburgers at midnight. Tyler enjoyed life to its fullest and tried to experience as many things as he could. He enjoyed all sports and he played football, basketball, soccer and baseball. Tyler liked rap music and making CDs for his partners. He went to powwows and was really tickled when he won a dance contest in Hays. He went to sweats with his relatives and enjoyed attending family gatherings.

Tyler's Indian name is "Iron Man," which was given to him by his great-grandmother, Rosie Cochran.

Survivors include his parents, Robert (Bobby) and Daryl (Anita Jones) Brockie; girlfriend, Amanda of Fort Belknap Agency; brother, Jacob Brockie and his friend Griselda Vullo and her daughter Ariana all of Billings; special sister, Zita Jones Reece of Polson; special cousin, Aiden Jones of Hays; his lifelong friend Nicholas Cabrera of Billings; his grandparents, Cecil (Buck) Jones of Kenai, Alaska, and Florine Jones, Martha Buck, Moses Nez Perce (who is also Tyler's godfather), Prince Brockie and Bobby Lee Cochran, all of Hays, and Fred DesRosier of Browning; aunts and uncles, Matthew Jones, Tommy Jones and Kenny Jones, all of Hays, Jessie Jones of Kingsland, Ga., Darrin Finley of Arlee, Eddie Brockie and Kenny Nicholson of Billings, Frank Buck of Anchorage, Alaska, Conrad Buck of Fort Belknap, Audrey Jones (who is Tyler's godmother), Laura Simpson and Donna Boyer, all of Billings, Wanda Jones of Fort Washakie, Wyo., Karma Cochran of Ann Arbor, Mich., Karen Parker and Brenda Essert of Hays, Mary (Sissy) Booth of Kenai, Alaska, Emory Champage of Havre, Margaret Nicholson and Ethel Moore of Fort Belknap, Laura Matte of Polson, Gracey Pipe and Jackie Chase of Wolf Point, and special auntie Avis King of Hays; great aunts, Vivian Cochran, Jeannie Shambo, Leona Fox, Sharon Quincy, Barbara Jones, Annie Finley, Mary Hayes and Ola Cochran, all of Hays, and Mona DesRosier of Browning.
