CATHERINE CARLSON obituary

ROCKY BOY - Catherine (Courchane) Carlson, 78, died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003, at a Havre hospital of natural causes.

A wake service began at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Rocky Boy Catholic Church. The funeral service was scheduled for 11 a.m. today at the Rocky Boy Catholic Church with the Rev. Pete Guthneck officiating. Burial was to follow at the Courchane Family Cemetery.

Catherine was born July 17, 1925 to William John Courchane and Minnie (Houle) Gardipee in Havre. She was raised in Rocky Boy and attended Rocky Boy Schools. Catherine worked in hotel housekeeping in Havre.

She married Harold L. Carlson on Nov. 15, 1958, in Havre. The couple lived in Havre and later moved to Rocky Boy.

Catherine enjoyed crocheting, picking berries, canning and sewing.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold Louis Carlson in 1982; sisters, Alice Courchane and Rose Courchane Wells; and son, Leslie George (Tiny Man) Houle.

Survivors include her brother, Sam Courchane Sr. of Rocky Boy; sisters, Maryann Dustrude of Washington and Delia Morsette of Rocky Boy; daughters, Rose Marie Hudson of Santa Clara, Calif., and Wilma Wells of Great Falls; four grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services and arrangements are under the direction of Holland and Bonine Funeral Home.
