Events are set to commemorate Veterans Day Tuesday at the Hill County Courthouse and at the Vets Club.
Joe Ross will be the master of ceremonies at the courthouse, with the program starting at 11 a.m.
Rodney Mruk, pastor of Messiah Lutheran Church, will give an invocation. Dena Rudio will sing the "Star-Spangled Banner." A moment of silence will be held for veterans and for victims of 9-11.
VFW post commander Jim Matter and VFW Auxiliary president Marjorie Purkett will lay a wreath to honor all veterans, and American Legion commander Dennis Hinkle and United Veterans Council president Marlene Hannah will lay a wreath to honor the victims of 9-11.
After a 21-gun salute and the performance of "Taps," Mruk will give a benediction.
Matter will be the master of ceremonies for events at the Vets Club once the courthouse events are over.
Another invocation by Mruk will follow Matter's welcome to the event, then the VFW Honor Guard will post the colors.
Rudio will sing the national anthem after the Pledge of Allegiance is said.
Retired naval officer John Chapman is the featured speaker at the Vets Club events.
Purkett and Matter will present awards, and Hannah will recite a poem titled "Old Glory."
The Havre Middle School Band will perform the songs of different branches of the U.S. milatary services.
