PATTI ANDERSON obituary

BRATTLEBORO, Vt. - Patti Eula Anderson, died Sunday, Feb. 29, 2004, at an assisted living facility in Brattleboro, Vt.

Cremation services are being conducted in Guilford by Vermont Blessings.

Patti was born Roy and Hazel Hopkins on March 2, 1915, in Lewistown, where she lived until graduating from high school.

After two years at Montana State University in Bozeman, she met and married Frank H. Anderson, a Yellowstone Park ranger.

As a ranger's wife, she was hostess to many visitors and naturalists over the years and was especially known for her homemade bread and cinnamon rolls. The couple made their life in Yellowstone until 1954, when they transferred to Scottsbluff National Monument in Nebraska and later to Harpers Ferry National Monument in West Virginia.

After retirement from the National Park Service, the Andersons lived in Central Florida and later moved to Bremerton, Wash. Following the death of her husband in 1988, Patti went to Havre to be near family. She lived in Havre until moving to Brattleboro in 1997.

Her great passion was dance, which she studied in college and taught while living in Wyoming and Montana. Other interests included bird watching, reading and playing bridge and word games.

She was affiliated with the Church of Christ, Scientist throughout her life.

Patti was preceded in death by her brother, Ralph Hopkins of Havre in March of 2001.

Survivors include her daughter, Wendy Redlinger of Guilford; grandson, Eric Redlinger of Brooklyn, N.Y.; sister-in-law, Barbara Hopkins of Spokane, Wash.; five nieces and one nephew.
