ALVIN ALBRIGHT obituary

Alvin A. Albright, 65, of Havre, died on Tuesday, March 9, 2004, at his daughter's home in Billings after an extended illness.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary. Interment will be at Yellowstone Valley Memorial Park.

Al was born on Jan. 31, 1939, to Albert and Mabel (Wellhouser) Albright in Helena. He grew up on the family farm near Winston. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany and the United States from 1960-1963, and was stationed in Germany when the Berlin Wall was built. Following his honorable discharge, Al graduated from Northern Montana College in Havre with a bachelor's degree in vocational electronics.

He met the love of his life, Patricia Rowland, in 1969 while working in Butte. In 1970, they were married and he immediately adopted her three children as his own. The family moved to Havre, where he worked for the U.S. Border Patrol for almost 30 years. He retired in 1998.

Al was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia; son, Shawn of Havre; daughters, Dawn (Jon) Gjersing of Billings and Staci (Dan) Belleau of Glasgow; six grandchildren; brother, Eddie Balbi of Arizona; sisters, Florence Swanson of Pekin, Ill., Arlee Kawakami of Eagle, Idaho, and Julia Card of Ryegate; and numerous nieces and nephews.
