MILDRED ROSENBAUM obituary

CHINOOK - Mildred Alberta Rosenbaum, 93, formerly of Chinook, died Wednesday, April 14, 2004, at a Warren, Minn., nursing home of natural causes.

A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Kuper Memorial Cemetery.

Mildred was born on April 29, 1910, at Holden, Mo., to Charles Henry Beck and Alberta Hamilton. She spent her early years on the family farm in Holden until traveling by train to Montana to homestead in about 1916.

Mildred and her family attended the Van Orsdel Methodist Church in Havre and later the United Methodist Church in Chinook. She attended schools in Havre and graduated from Havre High School in 1929. She then attended nursing training at the Kennedy Deaconess Hospital and graduated in 1932 as a registered nurse.

Mildred met her husband, Cloyd Alexander Rosenbaum, while she was in high school, and they married on June 17, 1934. Mildred and Cloyd moved to Chinook, where Cloyd worked for the U&I Sugar Factory and the Farmers Union Oil Company. Mildred spent her time rearing three children and in 1960 she returned to nursing in Chinook, working as Dr. Robert Leeds' office nurse until her retirement in 1975.

Mildred and Cloyd enjoyed camping in the Bear Paw Mountains, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. They enjoyed all of their grandchildren and later the great-grandchildren.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Murl Beck and Marvin Beck; her husband of 45 years; son, Charles Richard Rosenbaum; two grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter, Virginia (Bennet) Larson of Warren, Minn .; son, John (Nancy) Rosenbaum of Havre; 13 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Thelma Beck of Coeur D' Alene, Idaho; and many nieces and nephews.
