JOSELYN ELIZABETH YELLIN obituary

Our graceful Joselyn left us on Dec. 3, 2009.

A funeral will be held 1 p.m Wednesday, Dec. 9, at the 5th Avenue Christian Church in Havre, Mont. A reception will be held at the 5th Avenue Christian Church following a graveside service at the Highland Cemetery. Services have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home of Havre. Joselyn was born March 28, 1976, in Atlanta, Ga., to her loving mother Norrie and adoring father John Alexander. She was a wonderful and talented daughter. She grew up in Havre, Mont., with her mother and spent summers with her father in Los Angeles. She was the country mouse who took over the city. She had a unique blend of country beauty with big city perspective. Joselyn graduated from Havre High School in 1994. She attended Northern Montana College graduating with a degree in community service. Service to others was extremely important to Joselyn. She worked for Golden Triangle Mental Health in Havre where she helped children overcome psychological and emotional hurdles. She also knew there was a need to help children in California. She moved to Los Angeles in 2001 where she worked with the inner-city youth for more than a year. In 2002, she returned to Montana where she obtained her education degree at Montana State University College of Technology in Great Falls, while she continued to work with children in need. On Dec. 10, 1998, Joselyn met Jeremy Yellin on a blind date. Their love blossomed, and on June 7, 2003, they married in Fort Benton in a ceremony and reception that was only outmatched by their love. On April 21, 2009, Joselyn and Jeremy were blessed with the baby they had always wanted. Joselyn was a devoted mother to their seven-month-old son, Benjamin Alexander, whom she gave birth to naturally after 22 hours a true labor of love. May you watch over Benji as his guardian angel. Joselyn loved the arts. She had a keen eye for collecting unique pieces, and her home was decorated with photographs taken by her father. She could decorate anything and make it a palace. She also loved jazz music and always said that it reminded her of riding in the car with her dad. She was simply elegant. Joselyn lit up the room with her smile and filled up your soul with her love and gentleness. She loved to travel, even with her nearly 17-year-old Bella, a dog she loved since 1993. Joselyn is survived by her husband, Jeremy; son, Benjamin; mother, Norrie, and her husband John Holmes of Havre; father, John Alexander, and his wife, Heather, and stepbrother, Nathan, of Fontana, Calif .; brother, Gabriel Emerson Alexander, and his wife, Alena, and son, David, of Bozeman; sister, Andrea Faith Holmes of Missoula; and other family members Susan Holmes of Great Falls; Cindy Kalawsky, her husband, Kevin, and his children, Luke and Noah of Scottsdale, Ariz .; Rachel Bianco of Havre, Jay and Cindy Bianco, and their son, Jason, of Wasilla, Ark .; Sheri Sonju of San Jose, Calif .; and Nicole and Troy Tobias, and their children TJ, Madison and Daja of Shelby, Mont.
